A case of fungal diseases is surely too much moisture with the lack of ventilation. Fungi reproduce by means of spores that spread very easily. This disease attacks almost exclusively on very young plants or cuttings, is due to the fungus Pythium, the cause is the excess of water, the temperature of the soil which is too low, excessive moisture or water-logging. The symptoms of the disease is manifested by una fascia nera alla base del gambo, con necrosi e marciumi molli di colore nero brillante sul colletto della pianta, mentre le radici marciscono e tendono a sfilarsi.
Occorre fare prevenzione utilizzando substrati ben drenanti e controllare le irrigazioni ed intervenire con Propamocarb.
